Monika Csonková from NGO FutuReg facilitated a unique and deeply moving workshop designed to support women re-entering the workforce and others exploring personal development through creativity. Rooted in symbolism, storytelling, and non-verbal expression, this session was not your average training—it was a journey through color, reflection, and reconnection.
As participants entered the space, they were greeted by scattered illustrations of doors—each one different: old, new, colorful, closed, half-open. These cards symbolized emotional states and life stages, quietly inviting introspection before a single word was spoken. There was no pressure to explain—just to feel and choose.
Next came the color activity. Tables were filled with vibrant paper pieces, coloring pens, scissors, and string. Each person selected hues that spoke to them, unknowingly revealing inner feelings and values. Over 20 minutes, what began as fragments of color transformed into small masterpieces—visual metaphors of identity, dreams, and transitions.
But the most powerful moment came when we connected the creations with yarn, physically linking each work into one shared artwork. This symbolic act brought the group together—literally and emotionally—reminding us of the invisible threads that connect our stories.
The session closed with quiet reflection. Participants spoke of rediscovering parts of themselves and feeling seen without judgment. The creative process had done what many formal trainings cannot: it made space for authenticity, curiosity, and connection.
This methodology proved that even without heavy theory or structured dialogue, powerful growth can happen when creativity and symbolism lead the way.
